How to get started

Making an appointment

  • Complete the developmental, medical, and educational "application client history" form out as completely as possible. This history is extremely important. It will give us clues to where the brain’s inefficiencies are and of any underlying complications.

  • Please return your completed history form and signed commitment agreement with a non-refundable deposit of at least half of the evaluation fee to our office. The address is P.O. Box 9233 Spokane, WA 99209. The remainder of the balance will be due at the appointment.  We do not accept any credit cards at this time.  Upon receiving the history form I will contact you to set an appointment. Thirty minutes of initial phone consultation is FREE with client paying any long distance phone charges.

  • Video evaluation: Same as above except the non-refundable deposit is due when you return your completed history form and the balance is due when you return your video.

  • Many families ask what kind of time frame to expect their child to complete the neurodevelopment program.  The CAN LEARN staff has gone to great lengths to make our therapeutic program a part of your everyday life and not seem like "therapy". However, you are becoming the "therapist" so much depends on how consistent the family is in implementing the program. When implemented five (5) days a week and the full program is done it isn’t unusual for children with learning or attending dysorganization to complete the program within two years. Those with more complex issues require longer periods as plasticity takes longer. I ask families to agree to a two year commitment and we’ll go from there.

  • Re-evaluations are done every four (4) to five (5) months to modify and adjust the program as the neurological dysorganization is eliminated.

  • To understand about the evaluation process we recommend you read “Changing the Brain” article as well as “Hemisphere Specific Auditory Stimulation” article.

PARENTS NOTE: "Programs and activities are recommendations only and are not medical, therapeutic or psychological prescriptions. They are based on the experience of a Neurodevelopmentalist and represent suggestions to the family. Every parent needs to assume the responsibility for their own child and make their own decisions as to the techniques and methodologies to use with their child. "
