NeuroTechnology—Auditory-Visual Enhancement (AVE)
What
is NeuroTechnology and To What Might it be Compared?
With
NeuroTechnology, we train and exercise the brain to improve the brain's
capacity to be flexible (shifting brain
states) and at the same
time to
improve stability (maintain brain states) when necessary. Neurotechnology
training can be compared to training with a fitness trainer on a sports
team. The trainer assists in conditioning and improving the cardiovascular
function, muscular strength, and flexibility of the athlete. After which,
presumably, the athlete is better able to participate in a chosen event. The
trainer is not so much concerned about what may be ideal or perfect
conditioning, but is more interested that the athlete develops to the point
of being responsive to the demands of the sport. More specifically, that the
athlete develop physical flexibility to do what is dictated by the game, and
in addition, obtain the resiliency and stamina to maintain a certain level
of performance throughout the event. Granted, just by 'getting in shape',
the athlete's innate abilities may surface, but the fine points of the game
are the responsibility of the coaches.
Likewise,
NeuroTechnology training enhances the brain's ability to produce more energy
at certain frequencies, not so much to make it produce more energy, but to
train the brain to have the capacity to produce more energy or access useful
brain states when the situation dictates. In other words, training the brain
to have the ability to access different brain states and respond to the
momentary demands without becoming exhausted. NeuroTechnology gets the brain
in shape, resulting in the brain being more available to parents and
teachers; the student learns how to play the game of life and/or academics.
So, in both training the brain and the body, it is resiliency (stability)
and the flexibility, which are the hallmarks of performance. In addition,
through NeuroTechnology the brain becomes a more efficient consumer of
available energy. This energy generally results in students who are more
available to take advantage of the educational experience. NeuroTechnology
does not necessarily give students the skills but more specifically gives
them the ability to be available to learn the skills; that is, being able to
change brain states when necessary to take advantage of receiving and
integrating sensory stimuli and translating the sensory information into
newfound learnings. NeuroTechnology may enable students to get access to
resources such as previous learning experiences, which for various reasons
may be currently inaccessible.
In
summary, NeuroTechnology exercises the brain to improve the brain's ability
to shift and to maintain brain states when needed. During the
NeuroTechnology training process, we are asking the brain to shift
electrical states and to maintain electrical states repeatedly; eventually
the person is able to perform as the situation dictates automatically
without conscious attention. Each person may function optimally with very
different brain wave patterns. What NeuroTechnology does is to improve
brain/body function by training the brain to shift and maintain brain/body
states of electrical arousal; the result is improved or approaching a higher
level of functioning. NeuroTechnology can be viewed as
"push - ups for the brain".
How Can
NeuroTechnology be Useful?
NeuroTechnology (EEG/AVE
),
a brain exercise and training program, that appears to modulate many
conditions and disorders where the brain does not regulate itself
efficiently. NeuroTech tools are utilized by many high-functioning people
(e.g. professional athletes and corporate executives) for "peak performance"
training. When the brain operates inefficiently, a person may be
inattentive, and/or impulsive. Other symptoms of an unregulated brain may be
behavioral challenges, specific learning disabilities, and issues such as
sleep problems, teeth grinding, and chronic pain, headaches, or migraines.
The training may be useful with mood disorders such as anxiety and
depression. NeuroTechnology may also be useful for more severe conditions
such as uncontrolled seizures and minor traumatic brain injury, autism or
dementia.
There may
be many causes for the brain to operate less than optimally and likewise
there are many interventions to address brain disregulation. NeuroTechnology
programs specifically target and stimulate the brain thus providing a
fundamental basis from which to start to regulate not only the brain but
also, the mind and body. The point is not to 'treat any symptoms or
disorder', but to exercise and train the brain where the brain finds a place
of balance (homeostasis), thus allowing a host of disregulated symptoms to
remediate.
The brain
enhancing technologies could be more accurately described as 'peak
performance tools' as it appears that we all have the resources for enhanced
performance, we just may not have access to our assets when we need them.
NeuroTech tools may permit us to have conscious control of that which was
previously out of our awareness.
