Mission, Philosophy and Intent
Statement
Mission:
-
To evaluate a child’s functional levels
in vision, auditory, language, manual and motor skills.
-
To provide individualized comprehensive
programs from a multi-disciplinary drug-free approach to accelerate and improve
the physical, mental, developmental, cognitive and emotional needs of all
children.
-
To provide the skills, knowledge and
attitudes necessary to live and to help each child identify and cultivate his or
her greatest potentials.
-
To provide a curriculum that will foster
successful, healthy, fulfilling, and informed life.
-
To prevent disrupted adoptions and maltreatment
of children by families due to the complex behaviors of prenatal brain damage.
-
To train parents in strategies to help maximize
their child’s potential through INEP (individual neurodevelopment-education
plan).
-
To educate parents about the stages of normal
and abnormal child development, attachment and attachment disorder, grief and
loss, and trauma providing strategies to successfully parent their brain damaged
child.
-
To stop parent/family abuse that may end in
divorce of untrained, loving couples.
-
Our children experience the world differently...
we help put the pieces together by understanding the developmental level of your
child, accessing the brain's plasticity and branching effect. We help your child
build new neural connections by utilizing programs and fun activities to
encourage reorganization and thinking.
Philosophy
The CAN LEARN philosophy implies a continuum of
function ranging from a low of coma, to a high of genius. All children are
on this continuum. When children with developmental or learning struggles are
given the opportunity and specific stimulation will, in most cases, reach their
fullest potential to lead a happy and productive future.
Toni Hager and staff of CAN LEARN
are not licensed to practice medicine. Individualized therapeutic programs are
based upon experience and represent suggestions to the family. Each family is
encouraged to make its own decisions regarding which specific program techniques
and methodologies it wishes to utilize for the child. If medical or other
licensed professional advice is needed, please consult a licensed physician or
other licensed professional.
Can Learn Foundation is a non-profit
503c project of The National Heritage Foundation.
